Havana, Jun 21 (RHC) - Today, Cuban Raidel Martinez was credited with his 24th save of the season in the Japanese Professional Baseball League 2025 in the 5x2 victory of the Yomiuri Giants over the Seibu Lions.
At home in the Tokyo Dome, the right-hander from Pinar del Río continued his idyll with the strikeout: on Saturday he retired two of the three batters he faced.
On Friday, the three outs that Raidel got, and with which he obtained his 23rd save, also came from struck-out opponents.
He added his third save in three successive games, and maintained his effectiveness at 0.00 pcl, after 29 starts from the bullpen.
Raidel confirmed his second place in the Central League saves lead, behind leader Shinya Matsuyama of the Chunichi Dragons (26).
So far, he has pitched 28.2 innings, with a win, 13 hits, 31 strikeouts, and just eight walks, with an excellent WHIP of 0.73.
