Havana, June 3 (RHC) - The first World Forum of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Athletes' Committee will be held on June 6 to discuss key issues affecting the sport.

Representatives from 26 nations have so far confirmed their participation in the virtual event, to which several experts and influential figures of the discipline have been invited.

According to the ISSF website, the objective is to provide an opportunity for shooters to propose and discuss the changes they would like to see in the sport.

The forum also looks forward to establishing links between the international organization and its members, who will have a space to promote their concerns and participate in decision-making for the future of shooting sports.

According to the program, guests at the event will share their professional experiences and their roles within the Olympic movement.

Among the figures present will be three-time Olympic champion Italian rifle shooter Niccolo Campriani, the current vice president of sports for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Joining him will be former trap shooter Gaby Ahrens, vice president of the World Anti-Doping Agency's Athletes' Council, among other personalities.

The event will also serve as a prelude to the Rifle and Pistol World Cup, which will be held in Munich from June 8 to 15.

More than 600 competitors from some 70 nations will compete for medals in the 10 events scheduled.
