"A Solidarity Shipment from Italy to Cuba"
A new form of cooperation between the Gianni Minà Foundation ETS, the Italy-Cuba National Friendship Association (ANAIC), and the Cuban Embassy in Italy has yielded an important result: the delivery of medical equipment and supplies to Cuba.
Marco Papacci, the national president of the Italy-Cuba National Friendship Association (ANAIC), told Prensa Latina that the container of donations for Cuba was loaded the previous day with the support of officials from the Cuban diplomatic mission in Italy.
The shipment includes Fowler beds, intensive care monitors, defibrillators, laminar flow hoods, mattresses, dispensers, and ventilators.
Also included in the shipment are gowns, masks, and surgical glasses, among other supplies, valued at approximately 350,000 euros.
ANAIC president Marco Papacci and Gianni Minà Foundation president Loredana Macchietti participated in loading the container.
This humanitarian shipment is destined for Cuba’s Ministry of Public Health and is part of a collaborative project launched a year ago by Macchietti and Papacci during the presentation of Gianni Minà’s book Fidel Castro: A Thirty-Year Dialogue," published on March 27, 2025—two years after the journalist’s passing.
Since then, ANAIC has supported the Gianni Minà Foundation through various activities, including book and video presentations and school and university visits aimed at exposing U.S. communication strategies initially used in Cuba and then worldwide.
Papacci stated that this initiative of solidarity and collaboration is "a new form of denouncing the genocidal U.S. blockade that suffocates the Cuban people."
