Antigua and Barbuda, Jun 6 (PL) Today, Cuba defeated Antigua and Barbuda by one goal to zero in the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

In stoppage time of the first half (45+7), midfielder Pedro Bravo violently hooked a corner to send it into the back of the net and break the resistance of the locals at the ABFA Technical Center.

With this result, the largest of the Antilles reached six points in Group A and shares the lead in the group with Honduras (6), ahead of Bermuda (4) and Cayman Islands (3).

Tomorrow, the Hondurans and Caymanians will play and on the last day, next Tuesday, the Cuba-Bermuda and Honduras-Antigua and Barbuda matches will take place.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the third and final round of qualifying for the world championship to be co-hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
