President of INDER holds meeting in Dominican Republic

Osvaldo Vento is received by Dominican executives

Santo Domingo, June 20 (JIT) - The president of INDER, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, and Franklin Domingo de la Mota, vice minister of sports of the Dominican Republic, held a fruitful exchange that strengthens relations between the two countries.

Vento Montiller expressed Cuba's willingness to resume collaboration in sports with the Caribbean nation, whose capital will be the sub-venue of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023.

The Cuban leader conveyed a message of solidarity and confidence, and wished him success in this commitment to the regional event to be held simultaneously from June 23 to July 8.

He also expressed Cuba's interest in collaborating with the organization of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, to be held on the neighboring island in 2026.

Vento extended the invitation for the First International Sports Fair, to be held in Havana from July 31 to August 4, as well as for the X International Convention on Physical Activity and Sports (Afide), from November 27 to 30 of this year.

During the meeting, during which they exchanged on the culture and history that unite the two countries, Vento praised the excellent conditions of the facilities for the seven sports convened in Santo Domingo, which he noted during a two-day tour of the capital of Quisqueyana.

Domingo de la Mota, for his part, said he was very happy with the visit and the strengthening of relations between the two islands, and thanked the Cuban people for their support of sports.

Vento Montiller headed the first group of 35 people of the Cuban delegation that arrived in Santo Domingo on Sunday. He was accompanied by Gisleidy Sosa, director of International Relations of Inder, as well as the women's field field hockey team, which will fight to keep its Central Caribbean crown.

Precisely in the afternoon he held a meeting with the hockey players, including two players who already have two gold medals and aspire to the third title in these regional games.

This Tuesday, the head of Inder will travel to El Salvador, where he will be in charge of the Cuban sports mission in the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023.
