Havana, May 11 (RHC) - Cubans Gabriel Rosillo (97 kg) and Yainelis Sanz (57 kg) brought another two crowns, bringing the delegation to four in the Pan American Wrestling Championship in Monterrey, Mexico.
The world champion and Olympic freestyle bronze medalist from Santiago overcame his five opponents with 39 points for and only one against.
In the final, he won 5-1 against the Pan American champion Kevin Mejía, from Honduras.
Meanwhile, Yanelis Sanz, gold medalist in the first edition of the Junior Pan American Games in Cali-Valle 2021, won the crown with a 6-0 victory over Mexico's Bertha Rojas.
Olympic runner-up Yusneylis Guzmán (50 kg) was not as fortunate, losing in the semifinals 8-18 to Audrei Jiménez of the United States, a bout in which she was ahead 8-2 but could not close it.
In the bronze medal fight, Chiqui, as she is known in the sports world, defeated Panamanian Yorlenis Morán by technical superiority 12-2.
