Havana, October 2 (RHC)-- Peace delegations from the Colombian government and the Revolutionary armed Forces of Colombia (FARC-EP) began Friday a new round of talks in Havana, aimed at putting an end to the decades-old armed conflict in the South American country.

Addressing the high-level segment of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York earlier this week, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos set March 23rd, 2016 as the deadline to sign a peace agreement with FARC-EP, saying it is both necessary and attainable.

Meanwhile, FARC-EP Leader Timoleón Jiménez has called on Colombians to unite toward achieving a definitive peace.
