Bridgetown, April 29 (RHC)– Faith-based organizations have gathered to fight against Zika, with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) saying that religious issues will be confronted.

PAHO said that there will be moral and ethical discussions that will take place surrounding the effects of Zika, and the organization is therefore drafting religious leaders into the fight against the virus.

The mosquito-borne Zika virus reportedly affects pregnant women, retarding the growth of the children's brains.  The virus also attacks the nervous system of some adults, causing temporary paralysis associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome.
