Havana, November 7 (RHC)-- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, met on Wednesday with ministers, heads of delegations and Cuban and foreign businesspeople participating in the 37th edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV).
During the exchange, Diaz-Canel highlighted the role of FIHAV in strengthening economic relations and recognized the problematic context in which this event is being held due to the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the Government of the United States.
The Cuban head of State added that the circumstances did not prevent representatives of more than 60 countries from participating in the fair, with optimism and confidence in Cuba´s potential.
Meanwhile, several Caribbean countries attending the event said that they are opting for Cuba as a business destination and are showing their proposals at the 37th International Fair in Havana.
On Wednesday, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) celebrated its National Day with the presentation of the portfolio of opportunities that have as a goal to develop in Cuban territory.
Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana, Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are present at the EXPOCUBA fairgrounds, where more than four thousand exhibitors from some 60 countries, as well as 360 entities from Cuba, are exhibiting their products and services until November 8.
