Alberto D Perez
Havana, January 16 (RHC)-- Outstanding Cuban journalist Alberto D Pérez Fernández, died in Havana this Sunday. He was 86.
He worked with the heroic guerrilla, comandante Ernesto Guevara, in elaborating a news pool in the English language about Cuba in the early years of the Cuban Revolution.
Founder of the Cuban Journalists Union (UPEC) and such leading programs as Radio Rebelde's Haciendo Radio, he worked in several radio stations in the country, TV programs, and Granma International.
He was also a correspondent in several nations.
In his long career, he also served as Information Officer at the United Nations Office of the Resident Coordinator in Cuba.
After his retirement, Radio Havana Cuba's English Service had the privilege of counting with his great experience and talent, contributing to its editorial desk.
