Moscow, May 9 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, concluded his official visit to the Russian Federation this Friday.
“We return to the Homeland, with a farewell to Russia, where we have experienced days of intense emotions and promising dialogues,” the president stated from his X account.
“Our friends are not indifferent to our economic situation, and we addressed it during the visit,” he explained.
“Russia defeated fascism. Cuba will defeat the blockade,” the Head of State affirmed.
On the same social media platform, Díaz-Canel described the military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism in Moscow as impressive. "It is an honor to share the stage with heroes of the Great Patriotic War, with the brave people of Russia, its President, Vladimir Putin, and other world leaders," he emphasized.
In addition, during the day, the Cuban president held a cordial meeting with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of that Asian nation.
During the conversation, they reviewed the excellent state of ties between both parties and governments and agreed on ways to deepen them, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
