Cuban Artistic Swimmers

Havana, July 15 (RHC) - The four Cubans who will participate in the artistic swimming tournament of the World Aquatic Sports Championship of Singapore 2025 will have today their first approach to the pool in which they will compete from next Thursday.

Talía de Jesús Joa, Alejandra Molina, Gabriela Batista, and José Carlos Borges will try to leave some of the fatigue accumulated after the trip started last Sunday in Havana, and they will do it with stretching and review of the prepared routines.

Talia will be the first to perform in the technical solo preliminaries on the 17th and Alejandra and Gabriela will be part of the technical duet on the same day.

According to the schedule published by the organizers, the men's solo, defended by José Carlos, will be disputed on Friday with a direct final. On the 23rd, also in the medal phase, Talía and José Carlos will compete in the technical routine of the mixed duet.

The free routines will have a similar format of preliminaries for the solo and the female duet, and direct to finals for the male solo and the mixed duet.

Gabriela is the only one not involved in the Junior Pan American Games of Asuncion 2025. The other three will make the most of the world exposure to gain experience in an official competition and be evaluated by demanding international judges.

In the Paraguayan capital, scheduled to take place from May 9 to 23, the Cubans will compete in all the scheduled events: women's and mixed duets, as well as team events.

The aforementioned Talía, Alejandra, and José Carlos will be joined by sisters Idarlenis and Idailí Díaz, Analia Cabrera, Yenisleidys Rodríguez, and Nicole de Carli, all under the tutelage of Kenia Fons.
