Havana, October 25 (RHC) – Today, Dutchwoman Femke Bol and Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis were chosen as the best European athletes of 2025, at a gala filled with orange and blue on the Black Sea coast.
Bol, who retained her world title in the 400m hurdles this year with a time of 51.54 in Tokyo, took home the coveted award for the third time, equaling Britain’s Mo Farah’s historic record. The Dutchwoman, a symbol of elegance and power, thus capped off another dream season.
On the men’s side, Duplantis once again raised the bar—literally—by setting a world record of 6.30 meters, his fourteenth, also in the Japanese capital. With this mark, the Swede consolidated his almost mythological dominance in the pole vault and claimed his third consecutive continental trophy.
“Bol and Duplantis don’t just win, they transform athletics every time they compete,” emphasized the president of the European Athletics Federation, Dobromir Karamarinov, at a gala that celebrated the perseverance, technique, and magic of two athletes who seem to have no limits.
