Havana, December 15 (RHC) – The iconic Ciudad Deportiva will host the traditional San Silvestre race on December 31st, organized by the Havana sports department, with technical support from the National Commission of Races and Walks Marabana-Maracuba (CNCCMM).
Special prizes will also be awarded to encourage massive participation. “In Cuba, the San Silvestre race is a symbol of endurance and sporting joy,” Gattorno emphasized.
This event will close the 2025 race calendar, a year marked by races that reaffirmed the vitality of long-distance running, including Marabana, Maracuba, the Mandela Race, the traditional Cacahual-Ciudad Deportiva, and the Ideal Olímpico, all of which are characterized by high participation.
Cuba’s premier footrace, Marabana, will celebrate its 40th edition in November 2026, an event that will mark a milestone in its field.
