Cuban authorities sent warm congratulations to the Cuban people and highlighted their effort and dedication to moving forward.
Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, recalled on Twitter that a new year is synonymous with triumph.
“Because a noble people, who resist and create, deserve it. We will overcome!” he added in his message, where he noted that 2026 is be the Year of Fidel Castro’s Centennial.
For his part, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent warm congratulations to the Cuban people on the same social network.
In his message, the foreign minister acknowledged the daily efforts of Cubans, their sacrifice, selflessness, firmness, unity, and patriotism in the face of the adversities imposed by the hostile policies of the United States.
