The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) has called for the 19th International Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba “May Day,” scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 9, 2026, the organization announced through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website, Cubaminrex.
The brigade is being organized in conjunction with the travel agency Amistur Cuba S.A. to commemorate the 65th anniversary of ICAP and the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, and will be dedicated to the centennial of the birth of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
The program includes days of volunteer work, meetings with political and social organizations, and tours of centers of historical, economic, and cultural interest in the provinces of Havana, Artemisa, and Cienfuegos.
The brigade is conceived as an act of internationalist reaffirmation on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, a date that symbolizes the historic struggle of the world’s working class against exploitation and for social justice.
Participants will stay 10 nights at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in Caimito, Artemisa, and three nights in a hotel in Cienfuegos.
Registration will be open until March 31, 2026, via an online form.
The Cuban Institute of Popular Action (ICAP) stated that the brigade represents a space for internationalist solidarity where the commitment to peace and friendship among peoples is reaffirmed, and provides participants with a comprehensive view of current Cuban reality.
