Oklahoma Aims to Solidify its Position Atop the Western Conference in the NBA

by Javier Perez Jimenez

Havana, February 24 (RHC) – The Oklahoma City Thunder visit the Toronto Raptors today in search of a victory that will consolidate their position at the top of the Western Conference of the American basketball NBA.

The reigning champions of the tournament, the Oklahoma City Thunder, lead the West with a 44-14 record, just two and a half games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs, who are riding a nine-game winning streak after defeating Detroit, the Eastern Conference leader, 114-103 the previous day.

This Tuesday, the Thunder have a strong chance of emerging victorious at Scotiabank Arena, having defeated Toronto in four of their last five meetings and boasting an excellent 20-7 record on the road.

Meanwhile, the Raptors are 16-13 at home.

The biggest handicap for the Thunder will be the absence of their star point guard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is recovering from an abdominal strain.

Today’s schedule is rounded out by the following matchups: Indiana vs. Philadelphia, Cleveland vs. New York, Atlanta vs. Washington, Milwaukee vs. Miami, Brooklyn vs. Dallas, New Orleans vs. Golden State, Chicago vs. Charlotte, Portland vs. Minnesota, Phoenix vs. Boston, and Lakers vs. Orlando.

Yesterday, in addition to San Antonio’s victory, Houston routed Utah 125-105 and Sacramento defeated Memphis 123-114.
