The Odisea bookstore hosted the Chilean launch of the book “Marco Rubio: An Uncontrollable Mythomaniac,” which analyzes the figure of the current U.S. Secretary of State and his compulsive tendency to lie.
The publication of the book, by Cuban journalist, researcher, and writer Hedelberto López Blanch, was sponsored by the Varsot Foundation and the Ventana Abierta publishing house.
“This book provides a concrete map of a real, flesh-and-blood, man who today holds a position from which he seeks to decide the fate of nations,” declared Chilean sociologist and politician of Palestinian descent, Daniel Jadue, at the launch.
Born in 1971 in the United States, Marco Rubio is the son of Cuban immigrants who left the country for economic reasons before the Revolution. However, he insisted that his parents had fled after the Revolution’s triumph, a claim refuted in documents published by The Washington Post in 2011.
“Rubio, more than a senator, is a politician who makes lying his main asset and aggression his only program,” Jadue wrote in the prologue.
The text reveals his connections to the Cuban-American mafia in Miami, the National Rifle Association, from which he has received millions of dollars, and the Israeli lobby.
Hedelberto López Blanch shows that Rubio was born in a city where the counterrevolution transformed into an industry, and that industry into power, Jadue added.
