Cuba thanks the Second European Solidarity Convoy for support

by Ed Newman

Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, thanked the Second European Solidarity Convoy, whose members are visiting communities in eastern Cuba and will participate in May Day activities.

Through the social media platform X, the Cuban foreign minister expressed his gratitude for the shipment of supplies for the Cuban healthcare system, sports equipment and food.

Bruno Rodríguez also highlighted the presence of the convoy members alongside the Cuban people amidst the country’s difficult situation, caused by the intensified U.S. blockade and energy embargo.

Last Wednesday, Cuba welcomed the members of the second European solidarity aid convoy, named May Day, just days after the arrival of the first.

The solidarity group traveled to eastern Cuba on Thursday, driven by their desire to reach out to the most remote communities, especially those in the coffee-growing region.

Comprising nearly 70 activists from Italy, Mexico, the United States, France and Switzerland, the Convoy is organized by the Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba (AICE) and sponsored by the BioCuba Café Joint Venture and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
