The Federation of University Students (FEU) of Cuba has reaffirmed its commitment to the Revolution and rejected the aggressions of the United States, in a statement issued during the Centennial Year of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016).
The organization emphasized that no measure of economic strangulation, threat of military intervention, or media campaign will break the Cuban people’s determination to defend their sovereignty and the irrevocable nature of socialism.
The FEU, heir to the struggles initiated by Julio Antonio Mella (1903-1929), denounced the media war that seeks to distort the national reality through spurious lists and discrediting actions lacking moral basis, while calling for permanent mobilization in defense of the Homeland.
Cuban university students expressed their gratitude to the peoples and governments that, with dignity, oppose the isolation of Cuba, and reaffirmed that the island’s cause is shared by all nations fighting for their independence and the right to build their own destiny without external interference.
They also ratified their commitment to the call for permanent mobilization.
The student declaration emphasized that Cuban youth assume their historical responsibility, inspired by the Bay of Pigs invasion and the enduring example of the Revolution, consolidating their leading role in the continuity of the Cuban social project.
