Villarreal, managed by Marcelino García Toral, reached 69 points and remain behind Real Madrid (77) and league leaders Barcelona (88), while Mallorca took a significant step in their fight for survival by climbing to 13th place with 39 points.

A penalty from Ayoze Pérez in the 31st minute gave Villarreal a momentary lead, but a left-footed strike from Vedat Muriqi, following a goalkeeper error, leveled the score for Mallorca before halftime.

This Sunday’s matches include Athletic Bilbao vs. Valencia, Real Oviedo vs. Getafe, and the Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid, in which Barcelona could clinch the La Liga title.
