Havana, May 22 (RHC) – A network dedicated to the illegal broadcasting of football matches and the promotion of online gambling was dismantled by forces from the Hung Yen Police and the Ministry of Public Security, it was reported here today.

Simultaneous operations conducted by the Hung Yen Provincial Police and the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Ministry of Public Security in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Lai, Tay Ninh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, and Vinh Phuc dismantled the organization, which had been operating since 2024.

As a result, 23 people linked to the operation of websites such as CakhiaTV, RakhoiTV, and CaheoTV were charged, and 28 high-performance computers, 18 specialized live-streaming devices, 46 smartphones, and numerous high-speed internet connection devices were seized.

Furthermore, as reported by the VNA news agency, 27 bank accounts containing more than 10 billion dong (approximately $380,000) were frozen, along with several luxury vehicles.

The network operated through a closed and sophisticated system, based primarily on digital platforms, to infringe on broadcasting rights for major international tournaments and organize illegal betting activities.

According to the detainees, the illegal broadcasts focused on high-profile competitions such as the English Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), the Bundesliga (Germany), and Ligue 1 (France).

Before being dismantled, the group was preparing a plan to illegally broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup, authorities said, confirming that the investigation remains open as the search continues for others involved in the network.
