Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the National Defense Council, visited the “Wajay” Defense Zone in the Havana municipality of Boyeros over the weekend, where he exchanged experiences regarding the work of the Internal Order Groups, as reported on the Presidency’s website.
During the meeting, Díaz-Canel listened to the opinions of officers and leaders on how to leverage the structural and organizational potential of these forces, integrated into prevention and preparedness efforts in exceptional situations.
The participants emphasized that the incorporation of the Internal Order Groups allows for more precise identification of problems, use of available information, and the design of more effective solutions in each territory.
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba emphasized that the work of these structures constitutes a coherent and detailed contribution, capable of providing greater organization and improving the functioning of the Defense Zones.
Díaz-Canel Bermúdez expressed his gratitude for the shared ideas and affirmed that, as progress is made in integrating local forces, community work will be strengthened, with sufficient organizational reserves to face any scenario.
Also present during the visit were Army Corps General and Minister of the Interior, Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas; Army Corps General Roberto Legrá Sotolongo, First Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and Chief of the General Staff; and Major General José Amado Ricardo Guerra, Secretary of the Council of Ministers, all members of the Political Bureau.
