A victim of terrorism organized, financed and trained on U.S. soil, Cuba reaffirms its strong condemnation of all its forms and manifestations, stated Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno RodrÃguez on Friday.
On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, Cuba’s foreign minister honored those who have suffered and continue to suffer from this scourge worldwide.
Through his official account on the X platform, Bruno RodrÃguez paid special tribute to the 3,478 deaths and 2,099 injuries resulting from terrorist aggression against the Cuban people.
The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on February 1, 2026, unequivocally condemning terrorism and reaffirming the island’s commitment to cooperating with the United States and other nations to strengthen regional and international security.
The Ministry emphasized that Cuba does not harbor, support, finance or permit the activities of extremist organizations on its territory.
It also stressed that the Cuban State maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward money laundering and the financing of terrorism, applying rigorous international standards for the prevention, detection, and combating of illicit financial transactions.
The International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 19, 2017, to support survivors and promote the full enjoyment of their human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Despite global consensus, victims and survivors often face difficulties in having their voices heard and their needs met.
This scenario is well known to Cuba, which since 1959 has withstood numerous economic, biological, psychological, diplomatic, media and espionage attacks orchestrated from U.S. soil.
Despite this history, Washington maintains Cuba on its spurious and unilateral list of State Sponsors of Terrorism; a baseless designation that hinders the sovereign development of the Caribbean nation and exacerbates the effects of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the White House for more than six decades.
