Havana, September 26 (RHC) – Today, Cuba and Venezuela advanced to the semifinals of the World Youth Baseball5 Championship being held in Mexico, after defeating Lithuania and Türkiye, respectively.
The Caribbean team won in straight sets, with scores of 10 to one and eight to five.
Venezuela, meanwhile, defeated Türkiye 9-1 and 4-2, also advancing to the semi-finals, which will take place this evening.
Earlier, Chinese Taipei defeated Japan in a replay of the Asian Cup final, which Japan won in three sets, although this time it was reversed, with the Chinese winning 3-0 and 11-3.
The final quarterfinal match will pit host Mexico against Kenya, so three Latin American teams could be in the semifinals.
The medal matches will be held at La Loma Park on Saturday, depending on the evening’s outcome.
