On the afternoon of Friday, September 18, more than 35 members and supporters of various Danish organizations took part in a bicycle rally through the streets of Copenhagen to denounce the intensification of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the people of Cuba.
Participants rode along the Danish capital’s main thoroughfares, waving Cuban flags and distributing informational leaflets about the impact of the U.S. blockade on Cuba. More than 250 leaflets were handed out to passersby, who welcomed the initiative with expressions of support and solidarity and showed interest in the situation on the island.
The mobilization culminated in front of the U.S. Embassy, where demonstrators unfurled a banner reading “No to war against Cuba.”
At that location, the president of the Danish-Cuban Association delivered an impassioned speech demanding an immediate end to the U.S. blockade of Cuba.
The event once again brought the denunciation of U.S. coercive measures and solidarity with the Cuban people to the streets of Copenhagen.
