Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, reported on his participation in the Ministerial Dialogue of the 30th Ibero-American Summit — held with associate and consultative observers — —which took place this Tuesday in Madrid, Spain.
“We expressed our appreciation for the organization of this meeting, which is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Conference and extra-regional partners,” Bruno Rodríguez wrote on his account on the social network X.
During his remarks, the island’s foreign minister reaffirmed Cuba’s readiness to participate actively — contributing its experience and knowledge — in cooperation projects and forums for exchange aimed at benefiting Ibero-American nations.
“I denounced the fact that the U.S. government is imposing collective punishment on the Cuban people — intensified to unprecedented levels—through an energy siege that is tantamount to a naval blockade. Furthermore, it applies, or threatens to apply, secondary sanctions against individuals or entities that, in a legitimate and sovereign manner, maintain economic and commercial relations with Cuba,” he wrote.
This Monday, the 4th Meeting of National Coordinators and Cooperation Officers of the Ibero-American Community took place, during which a call was raised for the lifting of the economic, commercial, financial, and energy blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States.
William Díaz Menéndez, Director General for International Cooperation at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, participated in that forum, where a unanimous voice was heard from the peoples of the world—opposing the coercive measures imposed by Western nations upon the peoples of the Global South. This served as the preamble to the 30th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, scheduled for November 4 and 5 in the Spanish capital under the theme “Ibero-America. Together we build our Community. Together we project it toward the future and toward the world,” with representatives from the 22 countries that make up the Ibero-American community.
