by Javier Perez Jimenez

Havana, May 20 (RHC) – The announcement of the Brazilian national football team for the upcoming World Cup sparked an intense popular and digital mobilization in this country, where almost three out of four fans now approve of the list.

According to a study by the company Human Data, 74 percent of Brazilians with internet access supported the roster announced on May 18 by their head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, for the World Cup in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The survey, conducted by the firm specializing in artificial intelligence, data analysis, and culture, analyzed social media and digital platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X in real time.
The results of the research showed that Brazilians’ interest in the Canarinha (the Brazilian national team) increased by 258 percent compared to the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
During the announcement of the roster, a peak of 633,000 mentions was recorded on social media and digital platforms, one of the highest levels of interaction associated with the five-time world champions in recent years.
This magnitude of impact confirms that the Brazilian team continues to occupy a central place in the collective identity of the South American country, according to press reports.
This, they added, is true regardless of recent sporting results or the pressure the team faces after more than two decades without winning a world title.
On the other hand, the player who generated the most excitement was Neymar, whose name garnered 225,000 mentions, and videos went viral showing children reacting with excitement upon hearing the Santos striker’s inclusion in the 26-man squad.
Other players who sparked significant interest were Vinícius Júnior of Real Madrid, with over 20,000 mentions, and the young Endrick, also from the Spanish club and currently on loan to Lyon in France.
According to Otávio Ereno, CEO of Human Data, the Brazilian national team continues to stir deep emotions in society.
The announcement of the squad became one of the most talked-about events in recent Brazilian social media history, transcending the realm of football and reaching other spheres, he emphasized.
