In the context of activities commemorating International Workers’ Day, the usual solidarity meeting with Cuba and the International Symposium on Trade Union Work is taking place this Saturday in Havana. These events are raising the world’s voice in favor of the sovereignty of peoples and the full dignity of humankind.
Both events, held at the Palacio de Convenciones, share a common thread: the condemnation of hegemonic policies evident around the world and the strengthening of unity among peoples, at a time when the struggle for power increasingly threatens international law.
As is tradition, during the solidarity gathering, representatives from different nations reaffirm their support for Cuba in its struggle against the interventionist measures of the United States government, which for more than 60 years has attempted to suffocate the Cuban population.
As for the symposium, this forum presents an opportunity for labor movements from different parts of the world to join forces to continue empowering the proletariat globally and deepen its role as a social force to confront the ills of our time.
One day after the country experienced a historic celebration of International Workers’ Day, where support for the Revolution was reaffirmed, Cuba once again makes headlines when, from Havana, the call for peace, justice, and friendship among nations is heard.
