Havana, July 31 (RHC) – Cuban diver Prisis Ruiz today achieved safe and clean executions on the one-meter springboard and contributed a meritorious bronze to her delegation at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
At the Juan Pablo Duarte Aquatic Center in Santo Domingo, the 24-year-old once again broke records with precision and elegance, a flawless grip on the board, and dives with perfectly defined angles, scoring 248.50 points.
However, Mexico’s Rut Páez reaffirmed her country’s dominance in the event, demonstrating absolute control in her performances and achieving a score of 265.20, slightly ahead of Colombia’s Daniela Zapata’s 253.35.
With the third-place finish of the Santiago de Cuba native, the Caribbean island now has 16 gold, 18 silver, and 24 bronze medals in the overall medal count, securing third place and with the possibility of adding to its tally this Friday.
Later, in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event, Cubans Jesús RodrÃguez and Bernaldo Arias will compete for a place on the podium.
