Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, continued his work program in New York during the High-Level Segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Cubaminrex, the Foreign Ministry’s website, the head of Cuban diplomacy held bilateral meetings on Tuesday with his counterparts from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Uruguay, and Sudan. They discussed the state of diplomatic relations and matters of mutual interest at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
During the meetings, Bruno Rodríguez briefed his colleagues on the complex situation Cuba faces due to the intensified economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States—measures that include an energy blockade, secondary sanctions, and the threat of military aggression.
As part of his agenda, Cuba’s foreign minister was received by His Eminence Elpidophoros of America, Archbishop and Exarch of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, with whom he discussed cooperation between the Cuban government and the Greek Orthodox Church.
During that meeting, the top Cuban diplomat expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and support of the Archdiocese regarding international efforts aimed at lifting the blockade imposed on Cuba.
