INFORMATION FROM THE CUBAN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FEDERATION

Regarding the alleged anti-doping rule violation by player Alexei Ramírez Rodríguez, the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation (FCBS) wishes to make the following statement:

The notification was sent via email by the legal department of the International Testing Agency (ITA), which manages anti-doping programs for international sports organizations, including the World Baseball Softball Confederation.

Addressed to the FCBS and the athlete, the notification informs them of the results of a doping test he underwent during his participation in Group A of the VI World Baseball Classic, held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which detected anabolic steroids in his system.

As is standard procedure in these cases, the athlete is provisionally suspended, which prevents his participation in any event, pending the final resolution of the case. He has the right to request a review process.

The FCBS remains in contact with him and is monitoring the steps taken following the decision.
