Cuban Weightlifters Train in Russia

Havana, June 24 (ACN) The Cuban representation, comprising four weightlifters, conducted its first training session on Monday at the National Olympic Reserve School No. 2, where the Strongest Athletes Cup, to be held from June 25 to 29 in Moscow, will take place.

Speaking from the Russian Federation, Jorge Luis Barcelan, president of the Cuban Weightlifting Federation, stated that the Antillean representation consists of Lisney Adame Napoles, from Santiago de Cuba, in the 71 kilograms division, and Yeniuska Mirabal Feria, from Guantanamo, in the 81 kilograms division.

Also making up the list are Edisnel Corrales Rondón, from Granma, in the 89 kilograms division, and Emanuel de la Rosa Tamayo, from Santiago, in the same division. All of them are staying at the National School of the Olympic Reserve No. 2, where the technical meeting will be held, and the organizational aspects of the competition will be specified.

Barcelan added that this competition is part of the preparation of Cuban weightlifters to participate in the multisport events planned for the new Olympic cycle.

The delegation of the largest Antillean island has been invited by the Russian Federation to this event, as part of the sports exchange between the two countries.
