Havana, July 16 (RHC) - The Cuban men's team defeated Bulgaria in five sets today at the start of the final week of competition in the regular season of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League.
The Antilleans came back in the final sets to win 23-25, 25-16, 23-25, 27-25, and 15-13, in their quest to advance to the final round, for which they must finish among the top seven teams.
The Caribbean team now has a record of five wins and four losses, which puts them in seventh place for the moment.
Earlier, France defeated China 3-1 and reached 18 points, sharing second place behind leader Brazil (23).
Meanwhile, in Chiba, host Japan defeated Germany 3-1 and the United States shut out Turkey 3-0, while in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Italy beat Serbia 3-0 and Ukraine defeated the Netherlands 3-2.
