The denunciation made through Cuban Television on Wednesday night brought to light the web of illegal actions that make up the U.S. government’s destabilization strategy against Cuba.
El Toque, a counterrevolutionary media outlet financed by the State Department and U.S. intelligence services, was denounced to the public for what it truly is: an instrument of subversion against Cuba.
For decades, the U.S. has been determined to defeat the defiant archipelago. How many times have they tried to provoke a social explosion in Cuba and recreate episodes they fabricated in other parts of the world?
In recent years, they have tripled the budget for the multifaceted war against Cuba; The objective has been to inflict the greatest possible suffering, using hardship as a weapon, hunger, and many other ills—true horsemen of the Apocalypse—unleashed upon the people to destroy their capacity for resistance, demoralize them, and defeat them.
The economic blockade, linked to the ongoing assault on the psyche, has been taken to levels of surgical precision. They are betting on creating a chaotic scenario, shutting down our homes, paralyzing industry, transportation, and life itself.
As a fundamental element, the United States intelligence community is carrying out a strategy to distort Cuban finances and induce inflation within the Cuban market.
The economic warfare strategy is divided into several stages: shortages, induced inflation, a boycott of supplies, and a financial blockade to limit the entry of foreign currency into the country, primarily dollars, as much as possible. These actions have placed particular emphasis on the machinations against tourism and medical services.
The second phase includes the use of platforms financed by the U.S. administration, such as El Toque, to stimulate inflation. The origins of this phenomenon can be traced back to similar procedures carried out by Washington in Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, Argentina (the Blue Dollar, via Telegram), and Venezuela (the Today Dollar, via the web).
El Toque, under the pretext of providing “independent” and “objective” information, serves to degrade the population’s income level through the speculative manipulation of the exchange rate.
As Cuban Television rightly denounced, its director, José Jasán Nieves, is a recipient of money from the U.S. State Department. With some of these dollars, which are handed out—of course, attempting to conceal the dark purpose behind this action—the aim is to cultivate “leaders of change” from within the private sector of the economy.
In the style of professional speculators who profit from the poverty of the majority worldwide, without any real economic event to justify it, the exchange rate rises or falls, moving mysteriously, always in favor of its operators.
Currency trafficking, financial speculation, and mercenary activity were denounced; it’s a lucrative business that thrives at the expense of the Cuban people, crimes severely punished under international law.
