Latinoamericano Stadium is Ready for the IV Cuban Baseball Elite League

by Javier Perez Jimenez

Havana, April 24 (RHC) – Luis Broughton Madrigal, Director General of Economics and Logistics at Inder, led the group today that approved the Latin American Stadium to host games of the IV Cuban Baseball Elite League (LEBC), which will begin on May 2nd.

Broughton was accompanied by, among others, Juan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo, the national commissioner, and Carlos Martín, the tournament organizer.

Everything was inspected, from the field to the clubhouses, and there was a productive exchange with various stakeholders in the capital, who bear vital responsibilities for providing better service to those attending the Coloso del Cerro stadium.

“As we always do before the start of a National Series or LEBC season, we check the 30 fundamental aspects to ensure a stadium is ready to open, and the Latinoamericano Stadium met all those requirements,” Broughton told JIT exclusively.

“The field has been mowed, it receives daily maintenance, and the workers already have the lime available for marking the lines, something that doesn’t take much time,” he added.

Broughton Madrigal also specified that they checked on aspects related to the food service, medical services, and internal security, all of which are ready.

However, just eight days before the first pitch, the Inder official warned about the need to finalize certain aspects for the smooth running of the season, which has been approved and championed by Inder, recognizing the importance of baseball to the island’s population.

“The lighting needs to be thoroughly checked, the clubhouse bathrooms need to be in good condition, and the air conditioning units need to be properly maintained, as they are very beneficial for the athletes who play in the afternoon,” Broughton concluded.

The Latinoamericano Stadium will open its doors on Saturday, May 2nd, with a game between the home team, the Industriales Lions, and the Artemisa Hunters.
