Cuba has congratulated the people and government of South Africa on the 32nd anniversary of the end of apartheid in the African nation of leader Nelson Mandela.
In a message broadcast on X, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its “most sincere congratulations,” while recalling the historical ties shared by both nations.
The Ministry noted that Cuba and South Africa maintain bonds “forged through decades of struggle and the enduring friendship between Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela.”
Every April 27th, the world remembers how, on this date in 1994, South Africa held its first free elections, marking the end of apartheid, an event also known as Freedom Day.
