Havana, April 27 (RHC) – Manchester United defeated Brentford two goals to one today and consolidated their third place in the English football (Premier League) standings.
Midfielder Carlos Casemiro put the Red Devils ahead after eleven minutes with a close-range header that caught goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher off guard.
Benjamin Sesko extended the lead for Michael Carrick’s side after latching onto a through ball from Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
In the 87th minute, Mathias Jensen pulled one back for the visitors with a long-range shot that sailed through a sea of legs in the United penalty area, leaving goalkeeper Sennen Lammens with no chance.
After two wins in their last two matches, Manchester United sit third in the Premier League table with 61 points, nine behind Manchester City, while Arsenal leads the league with 73 points.
