FitCuba 2026, dedicated to Varadero, underway virtually

by Ed Newman

The 44th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FitCuba) begins today in a virtual format, with a special presentation of Varadero, one of the country’s most important sun and beach destinations, which will be the focus of the professional event organized by the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur).

More than 900 registrations, including participants and exhibitors, from Cuba, Colombia, Spain, Argentina, Canada, and many other nations will be at FitCuba, which, given the current circumstances, has adopted a virtual format to connect tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hotel chains, and other tourism providers with Cuba.

The professional program, which ACN had access to, includes conferences, virtual tours of tourist sites in Havana and Varadero, testimonials from visitors to the Hicacos Peninsula, cocktail competitions, product presentations, and promotions from national and international hotel chains based in the Caribbean nation.

FitCuba will be the hub for exchanges and business this Thursday and Friday, showcasing Cuba’s natural, historical, heritage, and cultural assets at the various booths of the fair, accessible through the website www.fitcuba.net, explained specialists from the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur).

For the first time, the major event is being held virtually, and on Saturday, a day dedicated to the general public will take place in person at Josone Park in Varadero, with activities for all ages.
