Israel releases activists Thiago Avila and Saif Abukeshek after detention in international waters

The Global Sumud Flotilla has reported the release of activists Thiago Avila and Saif Abukeshek, who had been detained since April 30th.

Their arrest occurred after Israel intercepted the flotilla in international waters. They were interigated, beaten and tortured by Israeli authorities for more than a week before their release on Saturday.

The organization reiterated its demand for the release of all Palestinian and political prisoners and called on Israel to be held accountable.
