By mutual agreement, a meeting took place on May 29, 2026, between the head of the U.S. Southern Command, General Francis L. Donovan, and the First Deputy Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Army Corps General Roberto Legrá Sotolongo.
Both delegations considered the meeting positive, where they addressed security issues around the perimeter of the military enclave and agreed to maintain communications between their respective military commands.
