Havana, August 30 (RHC) – Real Madrid thrashed Málaga today in the third round of the Spanish first division of football (LaLiga) and reaffirmed their lead in the championship.
Nineteen minutes into the game, midfielder Jude Bellingham put Real Madrid ahead with a low, driven shot across goal to the far post, catching Málaga goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero off guard.
The goalkeeper himself was involved in the second goal for the Madrid side, after a clearance from his own defense struck him and ended up in the back of the net.
Kylian Mbappé scored the third goal for José Mourinho’s men in the 30th minute, receiving a pass into the box from full-back Alexander-Arnold.
As the game drew to a close, midfielder Arda Güler capitalized on a cross into the heart of the penalty area from his teammate Vinicius Jr. to make it 4-0 and seal the victory for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid leads the LaLiga standings with nine points, awaiting tomorrow’s match between FC Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano to complete the third round of the competition.
