Bottom-placed Real Oviedo Draw with Villarreal in Spanish Football

Havana, April 23 (RHC) – Real Oviedo, at the bottom of the table, drew 1-1 with Villarreal at their Carlos Tartiere Stadium today in the closing match of the 32nd round of the Spanish Football League.

Villarreal, managed by Guillermo Almada and currently bottom of the table with 28 points, surprised everyone with a draw against a Villarreal side sitting in third place with 62 points, behind Real Madrid (73) and league leaders Barcelona (82).

In the 13th minute, Parejo took a penalty kick that was saved by the Villarreal goalkeeper, but some Oviedo players encroached into the area prematurely, and the referee ordered a retake.

Nicolas Pépé stepped up to take the second attempt and converted it, giving Villarreal the lead. This advantage held until the 69th minute, when Ilias Chaira equalized with a left-footed shot.

In other results from this matchday, Levante defeated Sevilla 2-0, and Rayo Vallecano beat Espanyol 1-0.
