Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the Government’s commitment to continue working for the well-being and health of the people, despite the limitations caused by the hostile policies of the United States.
The Cuban foreign minister emphasized, as an example of this effort, the reactivation of production of 16 cytostatic drugs for the National Program for the Care of Cancer Patients.
Through the social network X, Bruno Rodríguez noted that this result was made possible after a significant investment in the AICA Laboratories Company, belonging to the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Group (Biocubafarma).
He affirmed that every drug produced at the plant represents sovereignty, hope, and a commitment to the right to health for all Cubans.
The head of Cuban diplomacy condemned the country’s severe economic limitations due to the extreme intensification of the Washington blockade and an unprecedented energy embargo.
In announcing the resumption of production last week, AICA Laboratories emphasized that this production directly impacts the availability of cytostatic drugs within the national essential medicines list, ensuring more timely access for patients requiring these treatments.
According to the company, the investment process was aimed at strengthening the plant’s regulatory standards and equipment.
