Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba (MINREX), denounced on his social media profile the lies of the United States government and its Secretary of State regarding policy toward the island.
The diplomat stated that these falsehoods not only justify aggression against Cuba, but also constitute a mendacious attempt to explain the internal revulsion in his country toward injustice and abuse in a society in crisis.
“The lies of the U.S. government and its Secretary of State regarding Cuba are not only an attempt to justify the unjustifiable aggression. It is also a mendacious way of trying to explain the internal revulsion in their country against injustice and abuse in a society in crisis,” Fernández de Cossío wrote on the aforementioned social media platform.
The Deputy Minister reiterated that such statements are part of a political strategy aimed at covering up the harmful consequences of the coercive measures applied against Cuba, which have been rejected by the international community.
