The Board of Directors of the Raúl Roa García Honorary Chair announced on Monday the passing of its president, the distinguished Cuban diplomat and ambassador Raúl Roa Kourí, at the age of 90.
His passing is a significant loss for Cuban diplomacy and for all those who had the privilege of knowing his exemplary dedication to service, his integrity and his wisdom, the institution emphasized.
In the official statement, the Chair also highlighted Roa Kourí’s unwavering commitment to preserving and disseminating the thought and work of his father, Raúl Roa García, the “Foreign Minister of Dignity.”
Roa Kourí honored the legacy of a family deeply committed to the sovereignty and dignity of Cuba, the statement emphasizes.
The Board of Directors expressed its deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
In the statement, the chair pays tribute to the memory of “one who will remain a benchmark of revolutionary diplomacy and the defense of the principles that distinguish the Cuban nation. His legacy will endure as an inspiration for present and future generations.”
