Havana, June 21 (RHC) –Â The Japanese team dominated the medal table at the 2026 Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam, according to the International Judo Federation (IJF) on its official website.
The Japanese topped the medal table with 10 medals: eight gold and two silver. South Korea finished second with two gold, one silver, and one bronze.
Italy completed the podium with three medals, one of each color, demonstrating its rise in the sport’s various categories worldwide.
Colombia was the highest-placed Latin American nation thanks to Brenda Olaya’s third-place finish in the women’s under-78 kg division, while Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Chile left without medals.
This year’s Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam hosted over 450 judokas from 58 nations over three days, all vying to compete and earn points toward the world rankings.
