Havana, April 27 (RHC) – Armando Ferrer, manager of the National Baseball Series champions, highlighted today the preparation and the state of mind of the Cocodrilos de Matanzas towards the Elite League.
In statements to the press, the veteran coach emphasized that the fundamental idea for the tournament is to maintain the same level of play that led them to become champions, taking it one game at a time.
“We have a very versatile roster that combines experienced players with rookies, which gives us the ability to make many plays and develop an attractive and aggressive style of play,” he highlighted.
The Cocodrilos‘ manager added that catcher Andrys Pérez and pitcher Armando Dueñas continue working with the rest of the team to reach peak physical condition while awaiting confirmation of their contracts abroad.
Matanzas selected infielder Yulieki Remón as their first reinforcement and also added outfielder Rafael Álvarez and pitchers Yanielski Duardo, Sammy Benítez, Jenier Álvarez, José Quesada, and Leandro Martínez to their roster.
The monarchs of the 64th National Series will kick off the fourth edition of the Elite League on May 2nd at their headquarters in Victoria de Girón against the representative of Huracanes de Mayabeque.
