A new version of the Global Sumud Flotilla will depart from Barcelona on April 12th bound for Gaza, the organizers of this initiative announced on Friday.
The mission will carry an international coalition determined to challenge Israel’s blockade of Gaza and respond to the growing humanitarian and political crisis facing the Palestinian people.
“While Gaza endures an increasingly intense blockade, violence, and deprivation, the mission is a strategic intervention with a synchronized global mobilization on the ground, linking solidarity, legal defense, and citizen pressure in multiple countries,” the source emphasized.
They also announced that the departure from Barcelona will take place within the framework of a broader weekend of public solidarity (April 10-12), which will include political discussions, performances, cultural and artistic workshops, family-friendly spaces, and community gathering areas.
On Saturday afternoon and into the evening, a festival will feature musical performances by artists from around the world. On Sunday, April 12, starting at 11:30 a.m., the political launch event will be held prior to the flotilla’s departure.
