The local branch of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) welcomed a group of American activists from the organization Code Pink on Saturday, who began a solidarity visit to the island.
The group will carry out a program of activities in this northeastern province until May 21st, with the aim of strengthening ties of friendship and learning about the realities of the Caribbean nation.
During the welcoming ceremony, the visitors expressed their rejection of the hostile policies of the United States government, as well as the economic sanctions and unilateral coercive measures applied against the island.
Likewise, the members of the delegation expressed their concern regarding the threats posed by the White House administration to peace in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
The agenda of the group promoted by Code Pink includes exchanges with the population, tours of socio-economic centers of interest and meetings with representatives of different sectors of Holguin civil society.
